Who are we?

We’re the Dawsons. We love popcorn and movies. Paddleboarding on calm lakes with PBR. We have a thing for English bulldogs, and are down for most things.

After living in San Francisco for seven years, we were itching for something. Our 450-square foot apartment had served us well, but we needed a new adventure. Thoughts of Brazil and a houseboat came up, but nothing stuck.

Brian started doing some light research on RVs. Independently, Jess surprised Brian with friends in a 32-footer for his 30th birthday. We were hooked.

Fast forward two years and we’ve got our very own 27-foot Winnebago named Layla. She’s a handful, but she’s home sweet home. She’s been rewired with lithium batteries so that we can boondock basically anywhere. In other words: She doesn’t need a plug-in because we can recharge her when we drive.

We’re trying to soak up as much nature as possible. Sample all the beers. See all the animals. Catch up with friends and meet new ones on the road. Visit small (and big) cities, and see where we might want to land next.

We’re not quite sure where we’ll be in a year, and that’s kind of awesome. Jess can only hope wherever it is, there’s a dog.
